Conference Chair, "Teaching Change" N.E.F.D.C. Annual Conference

October 21, 2022

  • Facilitated this regional teaching conference at College of Holy Cross.

  • Coordinated all necessary campus leaders to deliver this higher education conference for faculty, staff and administrators.

  • Worked with the N.E.F.D.C. Board of directors and organizational practices for delivering this conference including, securing keynote speaker and author Jose Bowen PHD. 

  • Attended by 150 attendee’s from 24 regional colleges and universities across New England.

Washington D.C. White House

October 19, 2022

  • Day long event traveled to D.C. to visit the White House on behalf of the College Radio Day Foundation.

  • Coordinated all necessary campus leaders to deliver this higher education conference for faculty, staff and administrators.

  • Worked with the N.E.F.D.C. Board of directors and organizational practices for delivering this conference including, securing keynote speaker and author Jose Bowen PHD. 

  • Attended by 150 attendee’s from 24 regional colleges and universities across New England.

June  2021 – Present

  • Elected to this national board of directors in college radio broadcasting.

  • Attend yearly meetings to plan and facilitate national conference in college radio broadcasting.

  • Stay abreast on the trends in college radio and higher education.

June 7, 2019

  • Facilitated this regional teaching conference at Landmark College

  • Coordinated all necessary campus leaders to deliver this higher education conference for faculty, staff and administrators.

  • Worked with the N.E.F.D.C. Board of directors and organizational practices for delivering this conference including, securing keynote speaker Jerry Schultz MD. 

  • Attended by 150 attendee’s from 24 regional colleges and universities across New England.

New England Faculty Development Consortium, Board Member

March 2013 – Present

  • Elected to this regional board of directors in 2013, 3rd consecutive term.

  • Attend tri-yearly meetings to plan and facilitate regional conferences in higher education development for faculty, staff, and administrators.

  • Served as Proposal Committee Chair, organizing and facilitating the process of vetting submissions for conference presentations, spring 2014 through Spring 2023.  (19 total conferences).

  • Executive Board Secretary voted into 3-year term in 2017 and reelected in 2020.

 

WLMC Radio, Faculty Advisor

Fall 2008 – Present

  • 2023 Best College Radio Station Streaming -Under 10,000 Students by the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System.

  • 2023 Best Radio Drama, by Daniel Molster. Awarded by the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System. 

  • 2022 Best College Radio Station Streaming - Under 10,000 Students by the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System.

  • 2022 Best College Public Service Announcement (nominee), Alex Evans, entitled, "Internet Addition"

  • 2022 Best College Radio Interview (nominee) Mariah Edson an interview with Casey Murrow.  

  • Work under the Student Affairs Division overseeing the radio station and club.

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop student on-air talent. Including developing weekly radio shows, mentoring on air protocol, guidance on FCC guidelines, WLMC policies, etc.

  • Facilitate regular monthly meetings with all on air talent.

  • Oversee day to day operations, including but not limited to; disc jockey schedules, technical problem solving, assisting disc jockeys with shows, answering phone and emails, overall maintenance of the station.

  • Oversee work study students, the station manager and the WLMC Executive Student Board.

  • Train and assist all current and past disc jockeys of the college radio station.

  • Serve as a first responder to any technical or other sudden issues.

  • Engage in community outreach and make continual connections between the station and the community at large.

  • Building a network of contacts within the region to assist our students with their own learning within the field of radio.

  • Readily available for support to ensure the success of WLMC Land Shark Radio.

  • Visionary thinking and implementation to advance and grow the radio station.

Student Workshop on Graduation Speeches

  • Prepare graduates to deliver their ceremony speeches.

  • Structured and delivered a ninety minute workshop on public speaking for this specific occasion.

  • Consult one on one with graduates in helping them prepare their graduation speeches.

  • Plan and facilitate workshops on the college technology for new students during orientation.

  • Demonstrated and assisted new students with: Office 365, Outlook, Self-Service, and Sharknet, etc.

 

Student Evaluations Task Force

 September 2014 – May 2015

  • Appointment by the Faculty Senate to review the student evaluation process.

  • Examined literature review of student evaluations at the post -secondary level.

  • Created guidelines for faculty on preparing and administering student evaluations.

 

Curriculum Committee

Fall 2010 – Spring 2012

  • Read, review, critique new course proposals for Landmark College.

  • Create new policies and procedures for this working group.

  • Weekly meetings throughout the academic year.

 

Faculty Senate Chair

May 2007- May 2010

​

  • Reelected three consecutive academic years by the faculty to lead this governance body of the college.

  • Set the agenda’s and chaired all Senate meetings based on the needs of the faculty, administrators and needs of the college.

  • Set agenda and facilitated open community meetings. 

  • Led the executive committee of Senate in agenda setting and prioritizing the governance needs for the faculty. 

  • Served as the Board of Trustee’s representative to the faculty and attended quarterly board meetings on the Putney campus. 

  • Continual meetings with faculty, board members, senior administrators, and staff in supporting and advancing the mission of the college. 

  • Oversaw and assisted in problem solving and communication with numerous faculty task forces, committees (Faculty Human Resources Committee, Curriculum Committee, Rank and Promotion Committee) and the Academic Affairs Division.

  • Convocation speaker (2007, 2008, 2009).

  • Managed the Faculty Senate webpage to disperse Senate documents and communicate to the community.

 

Faculty Handbook Task Force

November 2009 – May 2011

  • Collaborated with a small faculty group to complete an extensive review of the Faculty Handbook. 

  • Examined guidelines, policies, and procedures and working with senior administrators to prepare this document for Faculty Senate approval and faculty usage. 

 

NEASC 5th Year Review Committee

January 2010- September 2010

  • Attended ongoing meetings to assist in planning for the college’s NEASC 5th year review in 2011. 

  • Composed a full self-reflective review of the Faculty Senate utilizing the NEASC standards and formatting. 

  • Learned new Share Point software to enhance the reporting process and best collaborate with the full committee.
